Rusape Old Peoples Home – Donation of Groceries

Purpose: Donation of Groceries

1. Attendance

a) Purpose Path Representatives: Mrs Nhiwatiwa, accompanied by one member from her church zone, Mrs Pasina.

b) Board Members:

  • Mr Kanyuchi: Board Vice Chair
  • Mrs Mukoyi: Treasurer
  • Pastor Mawango: Administrator

c) Home Staff: Antony and his wife, and Mai Russie

d) Residents: The home currently has eight male residents. We also note with sadness that Sekuru Bernard has since passed on.

e) Note: From time to time the home receives children from the Department of Social Welfare for safe shelter.

2. Proceedings

Before the handover, we were welcomed by Pastor Mawango. He thanked Purpose Path for the continued love and support shown to the home.
The groceries were then handed over to the board and staff.

3. Observations

  • The home is solely reliant on donations. Well-wishers usually bring groceries.
  • The board is engaging major supporters to consider financial support and to assist with improving infrastructure. It was raised that having funds in the account would enable the home to run more efficiently.
  • The caretaker is currently doing his best to maintain the garden.

4. Conclusion

After the donation, the elderly residents expressed sincere appreciation for the groceries and for the love shown by Purpose Path.

Food Hamper Presentation to Sekuru Joseph Wezulu at Melfort Old People’s Home

As part of its ongoing commitment to vulnerable elders, TPP visited Melfort Old People’s Home to present a food hamper to Sekuru Joseph Wezulu. This initiative reflects our dedication to dignified elderly care, ensuring that senior citizens receive essential nutritional support and meaningful community connection. Through direct engagement with residential elder facilities, TPP strengthens local social protection systems, actively combats social isolation, and upholds the inherent value of older generations. Such visits affirm that sustainable community development must always include compassionate, tangible support for our senior members.

Good Samaritan Children's Home Outreach

During the third quarter of 2026, TPP extended its humanitarian outreach to the Good Samaritan Children's Home. This support aligns directly with the organization's child protection and welfare mandate, providing essential resources to vulnerable children in a residential care setting. By engaging with children's homes, TPP reinforces its commitment to creating safe, nurturing environments for young people, ensuring they have access to basic necessities and a strong foundation for hope, stability, and future development.

Personalised Sunscreen Support for Amanda Wasarirevu

On August 20, 2026, Amanda Wasarirevu received sunscreen creams through TPP's chronic diseases programme. A photo captured the moment with Florence Wasarirevu, highlighting TPP's dedication to personalised, compassionate care. Amanda remains one of the key beneficiaries of this essential health intervention. The accompanying caption—"Sharing goes beyond sharing sunscreen creams"—beautifully captures the organization's deeper mission of fostering dignity, human connection, and tangible support for individuals navigating long-term health challenges.

Sunscreen Lotion Distribution for Chronic Disease Patients

On August 20, 2026, TPP distributed sunscreen lotions to beneficiaries under its chronic diseases medication programme. Recipients included Talent Kapuma (Blue), Munashe Kunyetu (Woman), and Tapfuma Antony Kabungaidze (Coffee). This initiative addresses the specific healthcare needs of individuals managing skin-sensitive chronic conditions. By providing essential protective creams, TPP demonstrates its holistic approach to community health, ensuring that vulnerable members receive vital resources to improve their daily wellbeing and quality of life.

Quarterly Grocery and Food Donations to Vulnerable Families

On August 18, 2026, TPP distributed essential groceries and food items to four vulnerable households in Ruwa and Norton. Beneficiaries included Gogo Krienke-Ruwa, Mrs. Ncube, Mr. Nyamhunga (represented by his wife), and the Masema family. The exercise, recorded by Treasurer Mr. Silas Mukono, strengthens household food security and reflects TPP's commitment to consistent, quarterly community outreach. These donations ensure that vulnerable families receive reliable nutritional support, fostering resilience and dignity within the communities we serve.

Running Miles for Meals

Assistance to Makoni Old People’s Home (Zimbabwe) & House of Hope (South Africa)

Running Miles for Meals is a fundraising initiative dedicated to providing food support to vulnerable elderly residents and disadvantaged children. The programme mobilizes individuals and partners to contribute toward meal provision and essential supplies for Makoni Old People’s Home in Zimbabwe and House of Hope in South Africa. Organized by the Hartzell Class of ’81 Charity Foundation and led by Dr. Ralph Nhiwatwa, the initiative emphasizes transparency, accountability, and cross-border solidarity. Contributions are directed toward improving nutrition and daily living conditions for beneficiaries. By combining community participation with practical support, Running Miles for Meals reinforces the importance of dignity, compassion, and collective responsibility in addressing basic needs.

The Purpose Path Organization Fundraising Braai

The Purpose Path Organization Fundraising Braai was a community-centered fundraising event held on 29 November 2025 at Chisipiti United Methodist Church in Harare. The initiative aimed to raise financial support for less privileged children and vulnerable institutions in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Beneficiaries included Fairfield Orphanage (Mutare), Nyadire Children’s Home (Nyadire), and House of Hope Children’s Home (South Africa), among others. The event brought together families, partners, and community members through a shared experience of food, music, and fellowship. Beyond fundraising, the braai strengthened community solidarity and awareness around social responsibility, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations through collective action and compassionate engagement.
